A word about the title... When I began to paint "Be Not Afraid," I was preparing myself for upcoming brain surgery, and I finished the painting during my recovery. Along with the paint and brushstrokes, a great deal of faith, trust, and prayer was poured onto this canvas.

Clearly the best painting on your site. The rich interplay of light and dark evokes a sense of disorientation while the juxtaposition of clearly discernable paths gives the viewer a foothold in reality, while drawing the eye deeper into the mysteries promised beyond the edge of the canvas. Though Whitman tottered down "the one less travelled by", implied in the piece by the darker trail to the right, the artist, through a more generous use of light seems to lead us left. Hmmmm...political statement? Left-brain dominant? Left leg a bit shorter than the right? Only the artist knows for sure.
